Collection: California - Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia NP

Yosemite has been designated a World Heritage Site since 1984. It is internationally recognized for its spectacular granite cliffs, waterfalls, clear streams and Giant Sequoia groves. A vast percentage of the park is a designated wilderness and was central to the development of the national park idea, largely owing to the work of people like Galen Clark and John Muir. Many million years ago, the Sierra Nevada was uplifted and then tilted to form its relatively gentle western slopes and the more dramatic eastern slopes. The uplift increased the steepness of stream and river beds, resulting in formation of deep, narrow canyons. Nearly 4 million people visit Yosemite every year and enjoy the sites, walking and nature in the 7 square miles of the Yosemite Valley. It's a USA National Park that is not to be missed.
