Collection: Wastwater & Ennerdale

Wastwater is the deepest lake in the Lake District and lies in the Wasdale Valley. The steep slopes on its south-eastern side are known as the Wastwater Screes. It is overlooked by some of the highest mountains in England, including Scafell Pike, Great Gable and Lingmell. It was voted by ITV viewers as Britain's Favourite View.
Ennerdale is the most westerly of the lakes and the most remote. It offers, even in high season, a place to escape. It is a deep glacial lake and the water is exceptionally clear. A road runs part way along the northern shoreline giving access to the Youth Hostel at Gillerthwaite and Black Sail Hut from which there are some great vantage points for photography.
