Cloud reflections at Crummock Water

Location: Crummock Water,English Lake District, Cumbria
We were on our way to Rannerdale to check out the bluebells when I happened to glance to my left and noticed Mellbreak perfectly reflected in Crummock Water.
I parked up quickly in a lay by and we made our way down to the water’s edge. We carried on walking past the boat house, through Lanthwaite Woods and on to the Fish Ladder and Pump House where the reflections became ever more breathtaking. The clouds reflected in the lake added such depth to the image that it made the lake seem completely bottomless.
Suddenly, a breeze got up and the reflections went as quickly as they had come. Time to return to the car and carry on to Rannerdale my original objective. As they say, right place at the right time but as I always say - you make your own luck.
