Mangersta, Uig, West coast of Lewis

This beach really was the real deal for Sheila and I.
We had spent the day taking images around the Uig Peninsular, finding beach after stunning beach of white sand but thought we had just enought time to carry on to the end of the road at Brenish before the weather deteriorated. There was a tantalising beach far below us at the foot of the cliffs that looked like it was unreachable. As we rounded a corner in the road just beyond Islivig we saw a sign in Gaelic which looked like it said ‘To the Beach’. We followed the path down and wow what a sight!! This was real died and gone to heaven stuff. This beach was FABULOUS. Not only fabulous but also almost deserted. We just passed one other person coming back up the path who was also waxing lyrical with it’s praises. The sun shone and we were happy. I took hundreds of images and was only driven back by the fast incoming tide.
This must be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and I feel privileged to have been there.
