Autumn sunshine at Friars Crag
When the Autumn sunshine at Friars Crag happens in the morning on a still day the colours and reflections can be quite spectacular. Friars Crag is a promontory jutting into Derwentwater on a stretch of shore about half a mile from the boat landings at Keswick. The view from it was described by John Ruskin as one of the three most beautiful scenes in Europe.
