Barrow Cascade Waterfall

Until recently, I didn't know that Barrow Cascade waterfall existed. I must have been within feet of this beautiful waterfall whilst ascending the road up from Ashness Gate. It is fed by Ashness Beck, with water gushing down from the Ashness Fells under Ashness Bridge into Derwent Water. It is certainly one of the lesser known Lake District waterfalls

Autumn is a great time to visit. There is plenty of water in the beck and the colour of the beech leaves lit up by the autumn sunshine make this a fabulous location for photography.
